Michelle, aka The Girlfriend (GF) : Master of Cute. Feline, without being overly catty. Professional artist, both corporate and fantsy: www.knotwyrks.com
Claudia, aka The Bestfried: Tomboy, Lovcraft & horror nut. Seamstress: www.pan-gaia.com Canine, without smelling like a dog. Complements girlfriend well, unless they have to occupy the same space for extended periods. Steven is her boyfriend and my other roommate.
Priscelle: Internet friend & Master of Disguise. She's also a moderator on Jim Butcher's webboards. Often abbreviated to "Pris," not because I'm a close friend, but because I'm lazy, and own the special edition of Blade Runner. CGI artist working for a firm in NYC. Despite us both being from Dallas, have yet to meet her RL.
Anaka, aka "Good Michelle": Old friend of mine, and the woman responsible for me getting my foot in the door of FASA 2 weeks before the unexpected announcement of the studio going byebye. Game designer currently working for Microsoft and introducing me to the city I want to live in: Seattle. NOTE: GF was met much later, "Good Michelle" is no relation to her. "Bad Michelle" is a psycho ex-girlfriend. GF is "My Michelle."
Sara: Friend from collage. Well, I was in college, she was in High School in the same town, but acting better than most college students. Now in California. Internet DJ (DJ WA) who has a show I've never heard because of my work schedule. Damnit.
Jeremy: Completely colorblind close friend who's hyper-intelligent, hyper-smart, and a bit OCD. One of the few people I'll table-top RP with because he's funny and creative. I'm still very confused why some girl hasn't snatched him up yet. So is he.
The Reverend Doctor Bill: History Prof with a large heart. Peter Ustinov, if he were into Lovecraft, Doctor Who, and innuendo. You probably know Bill. He knows everyone else.
Heather: An American Canadian in London. (She's an exceedingly scottish-looking redhead from Canada, who we met when she was working in Texas, and recently got transfered to London. I'm jealous.) Very addictive (and loud) laugh. She's relatively normal, but loves us geeky types. Basically a Geek In training.
Ginger: Houston Southern Belle and wife to Robert, the brainiac Think-Tank guy. Related to Lilian Gish. Ex-radio DJ. She's also an Evil Twin. (Her sister is the good one.) This is contrary to her having worked as voice talent for Books for the Blind.
Jim Butcher: Fantastic writer whose boards I help moderate. I'm also on his beta list and am a creative consultant for the Dabel Brothers (DBPro) comic adaptation of his Dresden Files books. www.jim-butcher.com Despite what some people think, while Jim & I are friends, we're not OLD friends or anything...I've met him a total of 3 times. We just know alot of the same people, and played on the same MUSH...although not together. Shannon is his wife, and her car tells her to buy things...like shoes. These are just really great people, who remind me of my favorite college friends.
OTHER ITEMS OF NOTE:
MUSH: Online, text-based (gasp, no graphics!) role-playing that is like improv exercises for writers. Helps with dialogue, characterization, etc. Jim actually played on AmberMUSH, one of the oldest ones, where I have played several characters...though not when he was there, I was on hiatus. I found this out AFTER I was hooked on his work.
Amber: Not a person, but a place. Roger Zelazny's classic fantasy series of infinate worlds of shadow (including Earth), with two anchors of reality...Amber & The Courts of Chaos. While the books are noted more for concepts than relatable characters, it's a wonderfully rich sandbox to play in. One of the original MUSHes, started back in 89 or 90 (roughly), was AmberMUSH, and there have been several other MUSHes in the theme, the current best being Road to Amber, which is what I'll be refering to when I say Amber. (The original MUSH has dwindled to nothing due to staff apathy and fed up players. But it had a very long, respectable run.) I'm also creative consultant on the DBPro adaptation on this series. Sadly, I never got to meet Roger before he died, but know many authors who he helped. He was one of the Greats.
CHUD: Cinematic Happenings Under Development. A wonderfully snarky entertainment news site that I have a love hate relationship with (more love than hate). Occasionaly contains text that's not safe for work. Sometimes in huge letters. Used to write for the site, and edit the BackSpace & CHUDStories creative writing aspects. Respect the hell out of them, even if I butt heads alot. On the boards as Coyote.
